The key to keeping a makeup routine simple is to make sure your skin is healthy and hydrated all year long.
For those who don’t have time (or inclination) to do a full makeup routine during the summer, a simple and fresh look is the perfect way to glow. Here’s how to pare down your steps and keep a makeup routine to five minutes or less:
· Keep skin fresh and (mostly) bare. Summer is the time to let your skin breathe – instead of covering with a full coverage foundation, use a concealer pencil to cover up any spots or blemishes you want to minimize. If you do prefer a bit more coverage, look for a tinted moisturizer that comes with SPF!
· Use brow gel and mascara. Tame and give your brows (and lashes!) the right amount of color by using a product that does two things at once. Dual-sided products that contain mascara and eyebrow pencil/gel are super helpful in minimizing a summer makeup routine.
· Lip and cheek tint. Another dual-use product is lip and cheek tint or stain. Peachy or pink hues are the perfect addition to any fresh-faced summer look – there are also plenty of multipurpose balms that allow you to add a bit of shimmer and highlight to brow bones, cupid’s bow, and cheekbones.
Aside from keeping the routine itself simple, a five minute summer makeup routine can be done with products designed for use across all different areas of the face. Let your bare skin shine and add a touch of color to accentuate natural beauty!
